Air pollution could reduce life expectancy

R esearchers led by Germany said long-term exposure to air pollutants was found to predominantly kill by negatively affecting the heart and blood vessels, which supply the brain.     According to the findings of their new study published in the journal ‘Cardiovascular Research,’ the team said that ambient air pollution is one of the ‘main global health risks’.   To this end, they said air pollution was reducing global life expectancy by three years, killing 8.8 million people a year.     Lead author of the study Professor Jos…
