The Ondo State Police Command has declared false, the circulating rumour that the body of a missing boy was exhumed from Sotitobire church in Akure, a church earlier destroyed by irate youths in the state.
Vanguard earlier reported how some irate youths in Akure set ablaze a church over the alleged nonchalant attitude displayed by the leadership of the church following the announcement that a one-year-old boy, Gold Kolawole was kidnapped more a month ago.

Wenger defends Ozil after Uighur comments cause storm in China
Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has defended Mesut Ozil after comments made by the Gunners midfielder condemning treatment of Uighur Muslims led to a stinging backlash in China.
“Mesut Ozil has the freedom of speech like everybody else and he uses his notoriety to express his opinions which are not necessarily shared by everybody, but he has the right to do that,” Wenger told journalists in Doha on Wednesday.

IRATE youths have killed a policeman and set ablaze Sotitobire Miracle Centre in Akure, Ondo state where a one year old boy, Gold Kolawole was kidnapped over a month ago.
No fewer than six houses and five vehicles were razed by the youths who stormed the church headquarters in the Akure metropolis.
Reports had it that three persons were shot while many others were wounded.
Security operatives fled the scene as the irate mobbed them.

Sherrock makes history for women at world darts championship
Fallon Sherrock said she had “done it for the girls” after making history by becoming the first woman darts player to beat a man at the PDC world championship.
The only other female player in the first-round draw, Japan’s Mikuru Suzuki, came agonisingly close to beating James Richardson on Sunday but was edged out in a thrilling final-leg decider.
Sherrock recovered from losing the opening set to beat the 22-year-old Ted Evetts 3-2, scoring six maximum 180s in the first-round contest at London’s Alexandra Palace on Tuesday.

Police confirm kidnap of NLC Chairman in Cross River
The Cross River Police Command has confirmed the kidnap of the state Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress, Ben Ukpepi at his residence in Akpabuyo local government area of the state.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Ugbo, disclosed this in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Calabar.
Ugbo said that the NLC Chairman was kidnapped at about 7.30pm on Tuesday night by suspected kidnappers.

The Supreme Court, on Wednesday, upheld the election of Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State.
In a unanimous decision, a seven-man panel of justices of the apex court led by Justice Mary Peter-Odili, dismissed as lacking in merit, an appeal the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, David Ombugadu, filed to challenge the outcome of the March 9 governorship election in the state.
