Cesar Luis Menotti produced a report on Diego Maradona in 1978 and delivered it to Barcelona, who were interested in signing his compatriot.

Sergio Ramos has joked that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo deserve their own Ballon d’Or award separate from the rest of the football world.
The Argentinian won his sixth last week, putting him ahead of the Portuguese’s five, which the latter apparently wasn’t best pleased about, but his former Real Madrid teammate has a solution.

Obaseki tasks new waste management board on service delivery

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state on Tuesday tasked the newly inaugurated Waste Management Board headed Mr Monday Sule and the Edo State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDs (EDOSACA) headed by Dr. Alex Okoh on quality service delivery saying his administration was committed to giving the best to the state.
Obaseki charged the board members for EDOSACA to ensure the HIV prevalence rate in the state is drastically reduced below the national average of 1.4 percent, noting, “I will like it to be below 0.5 percent and that means you have to intensify your efforts and focus on continued advocacy, access to relevant information, access to HIV testing services and treatment, care and support for people living with the virus.”
He tasked members of the Waste Management Board to work hard in ensuring Edo State is the cleanest in the country, adding that cleanliness is a priority, as focus should be on maintaining a hygienic environment in cities outside Benin such as Auchi and Ekpoma.

Six shot dead in Czech hospital attack, suspect shoots himself
A gunman shot dead six people on Tuesday at a hospital waiting room in the eastern Czech city of Ostrava in an unexplained attack, authorities said.
Police hunting for the shooter said about three hours after the attack that a man had shot himself in the head in a car they had been looking for. Czech TV said he died.

Oil prices drop as weaker demand return to haunt market
Oil prices slipped on Tuesday for a second straight session as the cons of a slowing global demand outlook outweighed the pros of OPEC’s agreement with associated producers at the end of last week to deepen crude output cuts in early 2020.
Brent futures were down 11 cents, or 0.2 per cent, at 64.14 dollars per barrel by 0738 GMT.
West Texas Intermediate oil futures were 10 cents, or 0.2 per cent, lower at 58.92 dollars a barrel.

Insurgency victims to receive agric inputs from Victim Support Fund
The Victim Support Fund (VSF) has begun distribution of agricultural inputs to farmers affected by the Boko Haram insurgency in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe.
VSF Executive Director Sunday Ochoche announced this via a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by VSF Programme Assistant (Communication) Munachi Okoro.
According to Ochoche, the intervention aims at administering appropriate support to victims of insurgency and facilitate the restoration of the livelihood of the victims in the states.

Imo ranks least corrupt state in 2019, as Kogi takes lead on NBS report
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has rated Imo State as the least corrupt state in Nigeria.
This was disclosed on bureau’s latest report titled: “The 2nd Corruption Survey Report in Nigeria,” released at the State House Conference Center in Abuja, on Friday.
Imo was rated the least corrupt state in Nigeria with 17.6%, followed by Jigawa and Plateau States.
The National Bureau of Statistics conducted the survey with the support of the United Nations Office on Drugs & Crime, in collaboration with other partner international agencies.

Youths commend Ugwuanyi on Enugu masterplan

National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Enugu State chapter has commended the courage of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in restoring the original masterplan of the capital city.
The youth council said that the future of the state partly lies in the ability of the citizens to obey and respect laws made to regulate the physical structure, noting that town planning regulation is one of them.

The youths, therefore, asked Governor Ugwuanyi, not to waiver in implementing transformational policies for the state, particularly in restoring the coal city masterplan.
