WADA meet with Russia’s sporting fate in their hands
Russia will discover Monday whether they will be banished from sporting competitions, including the Olympic Games, for four years when the World Anti-Doping Agency hold a crunch meeting in Lausanne.
WADA’s executive committee is expected to approve a recommendation by its Compliance Review Committee that Russia be handed a four-year suspension after accusing Moscow of falsifying laboratory doping data handed over to investigators earlier this year.
Such a heavy sanction would see Russia ruled out of next year’s Tokyo Olympics and the Winter Games in Beijing in 2022.

Anthony Joshua tightlipped on future after reclaiming world titles
Anthony Joshua would not be drawn on his future plans after regaining his world heavyweight titles from Andy Ruiz on Saturday.
The British star won back his WBA, IBF and WBO belts with a one-sided unanimous defeat of Ruiz in Diriyah outside Saudi Arabia’s capital.
The victory reinstates Joshua as a major player in boxing’s most glamorous division, and instantly renews speculation about a possible unification superfight with WBC champion Deontay Wilder.

Sudan’s first female football stars push for women’s rights
Within months of Sudan’s first women’s football league kicking off, the championship’s emerging stars are being hailed as icons for equal rights in a country transitioning to civilian rule.
Orjuan Essam, 19, and Rayan Rajab, 22, of Khartoum-based Tahadi women’s club, have scored several goals already in a tournament that would have seemed unlikely when autocrat Omar al-Bashir was in power.
“I was thrilled to see that authoritarian rule was finally turning into civilian and that women’s rights could now be achieved,” said Essam, her long hair flowing freely as she trained at a stadium in the capital.

Nigeria on cause to raise Olympic champions in gymnastics — Coach Asuquo
Tony Asuquo, Nigeria’s first International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Certified Coach says Nigeria is on a path to raise Olympic champions.
Asuquo, who is also the coach of Tony International Gymnastics Club, Abuja, said this at the club’s two-day Level System Gymnastics Championship in Abuja.
The championship, which is the ninth edition has 672 participants drawn from schools, clubs and states.
