ABUJA- THE Senate on Thursday passed the 2020 Appropriation Bill to the tune of N10.594 trillion.
The passage was after the consideration of the report of the Senate Committee on Appropriations as presented by the Chairman, Senator Barau Jibrin, All Progressives Congress, APC, Kano North.

CSO’s ask Buhari to dissolve NDDC Board to allow for Forensic Audit
A coalition of six Civil Society Organizations CSOs led by Guardians of Democracy and Development has petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari asking him to dissolve the recently screened board of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC to allow for an unfettered forensic audit of the board under the supervision of the Interim Management Committee IMC.

Former Governor of Abia State, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, who was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment, over N7.65billion fraud, by a Federal High court sitting in Lagos, while being led out of the court by the Correctional Service officers on Thursday said ‘2023, here we come’.
Kalu, who is the Senate’s Chief Whip smiled at reporters and said, ‘2023, here we come’ as he was being led out of the courtroom by Correctional Services officials after his sentencing.

Women storm court, protest half-naked over Sowore’s continued detention

A group of women, on Thursday, stormed the Federal High Court in Abuja to protest the continued detention of Pro-democracy activist and convener of RevolutionNow Protest, Omoyele Sowore.
The placard wielding elderly women took the protest a notch higher by removing their clothes after they were denied entry into the court premises by security operatives.

Sowore has been in detention since August 2 when he was arrested by the Department of State Service, DSS, for calling for a nationwide protest against perceived maladministration by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government.

Two FUTO students ‘wrongly deported’ from Croatia to Bosnia
Two Nigerian students of Federal University Owerri, Nigeria who arrived Croatia, Zagreb on November 12 to participate in the World University Championships in Pula were deported by Croatian security officials to Bosnia.
Croatian police claimed the students were in the country illegally, even though the students arrived in the country with valid visas.
The two students, Abie Uchenna Alexandra and Kenneth Chinedu were in the country to participate in the table tennis tournament.
