Brescia president Massimo Cellino has found himself in the headlines once again after controversially referring to Mario Balotelli’s rocky situation at the club as “black”.
Balotelli had been dropped for the Serie A side’s clash with Roma on Sunday following a training ground incident that saw coach Fabio Grosso kick the striker out of the session, with Grosso hinting later at a press conference that his charge simply was not putting in enough effort.

Barcelona star Oshoala rolls out plans to inspire young Nigerian girls
Asisat Oshoala is organizing a clinic and championship for young girls under the aegis of her foundation in Lagos this December.
The Barcelona striker, whose event will be staged in two phases at the Campus Mini Stadium, has scheduled the first to be held from December 4 to 6, while the second from December 20 to 24.

Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri claimed he has been ostracised as a ‘Taliban’ by critics for wanting to play his own style of football.
The Italian tactician’s attacking brand of football, which has been dubbed ‘Sarriball’ by the media, was highly popular while he was at Napoli between 2015-18, as he led the Serie A club to two second-place finishes.
Sarri has veered away from his familiar style since joining Juve in the summer to fit in attacking players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala into the team.

Dutch Fox Sports on Monday suspended former Netherlands star Marco van Basten for a week as an analyst for saying “Sieg Heil” on air as a “joke of bad taste.”
The broadcaster said it would pay the former Dutch great’s salary for the week to the Dutch Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide studies.

Marseille reclaimed second spot in Ligue 1 when they won 2-0 at 10-man Toulouse who cracked in the final 15 minutes.
Earlier on Sunday, Bordeaux edged in-form Monaco 2-1 at home to briefly climb into third and Saint-Etienne drew 0-0 at home against Montpellier.
In Toulouse, the home team were reduced to 10 men when right-back Steven Moreira drove his studs into Bouna Sarr’s knee and received a red card after a video review.

Oman held off Nigeria and won 6-5 in a closely-fought encounter in Group D of the ongoing FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
Oman jumped into a two-goal lead thanks to Eid Al Farsi’s left-footed, curling rocket into the far corner from distance and Jalal Al Sinani’s impressive scissor kick. Emeka Ogbonna responded to the early letdown by scoring two goals and bringing the Super Sand Eagles level early in the second period.

Tottenham banking on Mourinho recovering golden touch in Europe
Tottenham turned to Jose Mourinho to try and maintain their status as a Champions League club, but a terrible start to the Premier League season leaves the Portuguese with a mountain to climb either domestically or in Europe.
Mourinho’s appointment was not a universally popular one with the Spurs’ support given his past as a two-time Chelsea manager.
He managed to make the right first impression by securing Tottenham’s first away win in the Premier League since January with a 3-2 victory at West Ham on Saturday that was far more comprehensive that the scoreline suggested.
