Trump insists on ceasefire as precondition for Afghan peace talks
Presidential palace spokesman Sediq Sediqi said on Friday that the U.S President Donald Trump has insisted on a ceasefire as a precondition to begin peace talks with Afghanistan.
Sediqi made this known in his Twitter account saying that Trump made his intention in a telephone conversation with his Afghan counterpart Ashraf Ghani.
According to the tweets, Trump also told Ghani that for any process to succeed, the inclusion of Afghanistan in the talks is imperative.

The Appeal Court sitting in Sokoto on Friday upheld the election of Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal as duly elected.
The four-man panel in a unanimous decision upheld Tambuwal’s election after dismissing the appeal filed by the Appellant and governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto for lacking in merit.
Justice Hussein Muktar who presided over the sitting that lasted over two hours delivered the Lead judgement which affirmed the decision of the lower court that the appellant had failed to prove the allegations of over-voting.

Barber allegedly burgles church mission house
A 35-year-old barber, Bola Iluyemi, on Friday appeared before an Okitipupa Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ondo State for allegedly burgling a church mission house with intent to steal.
The defendant, whose address is unknown, is standing trial on a three-count charge bordering on burglary and stealing, to which he pleaded not guilty.

Enugu: LG Council pays hospital bills of over 60 indigent residents
Igbo Eze North Local Government Council of Enugu State says it paid the hospital bills of over 60 indigent residents of the council area that have different terminal illnesses but could not afford their hospital bills.
The Executive Chairman of the council, Chief Uwakwe Ezeja, made the disclosure on Friday when the tripartite committee of the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Civil Society Organisation (CSOs), visited the council on a good governance tour.

Man in court for giving false information to police
A trader, Surajo Yekin, who allegedly gave false information to the police on Friday appeared in a Magistrates’ Court in Minna.
The police charged Yekin with four counts of defamation of character, giving false information to mislead a public servant, making atmosphere noxious to health and inciting a disturbance.

Buhari approves re-appointment of NIMC boss for second term
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the re-appointment of Aliyu Aziz, Director-General, National Identity Management Commission, (NIMC) for a second term.
Mr Abdulhamid Umar, General Manager, Operations and Corporate Communications of the organisation, said this in a statement he signed and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Friday.
Umar said that the re-appointment of Aziz was conveyed in a letter by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Boss Mustapha.

Foundation Campaigns Against ‘Baby Factories’, Child Trafficking

Worried by the proliferation of ‘baby factories’ and the scourge of child/human trafficking in the country, a humanitarian foundation, Live and Love Support Initiative (LLSI) based in Lagos are set to launch a campaign and also create enough awareness on the scourge.
The group aims is organising a walk by extending the sensitization campaign to Abeokuta, Ogun State.
According to the Team Lead of the foundation, Oyindamola Sanusi, the campaign tagged: “Kick Against Baby Factories And Say No to Child Trafficking” is billed for November 23 from the MKO Abiola Stadium through Kuto Market and other areas in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
