Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has praised the attitude of his side after coming from behind to claim a 2-1 victory against the Republic of Benin in Wednesday’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game.
Stephane Sessegnon gave the Squirrels the lead two minutes into the match before the Super Eagles rallied back with goals from Victor Osimhen and Samuel Kalu.

Frankfurt’s Abraham banned for seven weeks for barging over Freiburg’s coach

Eintracht Frankfurt captain David Abraham has been handed a seven-week suspension and a $27,500 (€25,000) fine for barging into an opposing team’s manager.
The defender knocked Freiburg coach Christian Streich to the ground during his side’s 1-0 defeat in the German Bundesliga, sparking a mass brawl between the two teams.

After deeming that Abraham was guilty of “assault on the opponent,” the German Football Association’s (DFB) banned the 33-year-old from November 10 until December 29.

Ugandan Nakalembe wins opening round at Nigeria Ladies Open Golf Championship

The 2019 Nigeria Ladies Golf Open Championship teed off on Wednesday at the IBB International Golf and Country Club in Abuja, with Ugandan Irene Nakalembe dictating the pace.
Playing with Handicap 2, Nakalembe grossed 76 on the opening 18 holes, with Nigeria’s Amina Wilfred closely following.
The Nigerian policewoman who is Handicap 8 was two strokes behind the visiting player, after playing a gross of 78 and a 70 nett.
Another Nigerian, Racheal Danjuma, occupied the third place with a nett of 74 and gross of 82 while defending champion Evah Magala of Uganda stayed fourth.

Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva has been handed a one-match ban and a £50,000 fine from the FA for his controversial tweet to Benjamin Mendy.
Silva was originally charged with misconduct by the FA in October after the Portuguese tweeted an image of a young Mendy alongside an image of the brand mascot of Spanish confectionery brand Conguitos, with the caption “Guess who?”, on September 22.
