Yemen’s Iran-linked Houthi rebels said late Friday that they were halting drone and ballistic missile attacks on Saudi Arabia.
The Houthi rebels have claimed recent attacks on major Saudi oil facilities.
“We hope Riyadh will respond in a positive way to this initiative.
”And if Saudi Arabia does not respond to the initiative and resumes bombing, we will have the right to respond to it,” said Mahdi al-Mashat.
Al-Mashat is head of the so-called Supreme Houthi Political Council in a recorded speech broadcast by the movement’s Al-Masirah television.

A Non-governmental Organisation, KDC Foundation, has established a learning centre in Garun Malam local government area of Kano state as part of an effort to reduce almajiri migration to tsangaya schools in the city.

Inaugurating the learning centre, the Project Coordinator of the NGO, Alhaji Khalifa Dankadai, said the aim was to decongest the already existing Almajiri tsangaya schools in the urban centres.
According to him, “Our concern for the welfare and future of the almajiris, initiated the idea to establish the centres in many parts of the state.”
He said that the organisation had inaugurated a supervisory committee from the community to monitor the centre and sustain its activities.

Zamfara police recover 100 assorted guns from bandits

The Zamfara Police Command has recovered a total of 100 guns from repentant local militia group members in the state.

The state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr Usman Nagogo made this disclosure at a news conference held at the Command Headquarters in Gusau on Friday.
The commissioner said even though the weapons consisted of locally made Dane guns, “they are of different calibre and are much of the imitation of AK 47, RPG, LMC and other sophisticated weapons that are of mass destruction.
