The Reformed Christian Association of Nigeria (ReCAN) has faulted the leadership of CAN over its biased reaction to President Muhammadu Buhari’s attendance of the just-concluded Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Buhari on Sunday departed, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for Abuja, after attending the 14th OIC Summit in Makkah.
Among others, the President noted with delight the decision of the organisation to support the Inter-Basin Water Transfer Project, aimed at recharging the Lake Chad.

The Economist magazine has finally lost the battle of pretence in which it seeks to project itself as a respectable, objective, balanced and unbiased international publication that elites can trust to make decisions. It took President Muhammadu Buhari to precipitate the Economist’s defeat in the war the publication has been fighting against some countries of the world.
The battle at which the Economist lost the war was with its headline “Nigerians got poorer in Muhammadu Buhari’s first term,” a report that is apparently targeted at inciting the country’s population to an uprising.

The Coalition in Defence of Democracy and Good Governance has condemned the burning of the American and Israeli flags by members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), better known as Shiites in Abuja.
The Shiites set ablaze the national flags of the US and Israel during a massive protest in Abuja on Friday.
The protesters, who converged on Wuse market junction, described both countries as enemies and oppressors of the people of Palestine.

Buhari’s IOC meeting: Stop promoting hate speeches, ethno-religious bigotry – Group warns
The Coalition for Truth and Justice has warned the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) against promoting hate speeches and ethno-religion bigotry in Nigeria.
The group was reacting to the comment made by HURIWA over the President Muhamadu Buhari’s attendance of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
HURIWA had faulted the president for going for the IOC summit a day after his swearing-in for second term in office, describing it as “illegal and unconstitutional.
